Satir på hög nivå
En tillställning i vita huset 2006 för amerikanska korrespondenter avslutas av ett fantastiskt tal. Den, tydligen välkände, komikern Stephen Colbert har inbjudits att hålla middagstal till presidentens ära. Talet är en bitande satir över Bush-administrationen och presidenten George W Bush sitter och lyssnar på podiet bara några meter från talaren! Den månghövdade publiken på plats består, förutom av representanter för korrespondenterna, av åtskilliga namnkunniga makthavare i USA, som också får några slängar av den satiriske talaren. En underbar föreställning, helt enkelt! Njut av de tre video-avsnitten.

Det är på riktigt, och det är tradition att man på White House Correspondents dinner skämtar på presidentens bekostnad.
Tack för den upplysningen, Jakop. Då återstår min andra fråga: Varför har detta inte uppmrksammats i svensk media, underhållningsvärdet slår ju mesta av humorprogrammens utbud i svensk radio och television, åtminstone i mitt tycke.
Jag har för mig att kulturprogrammet Kobra tog detta nyligen. Det roliga var att Bush inte verkade förstå många av skämten =)
Heiti: Jaha, det har jag förstås missat, synd att det inte visades i något mer populärt program.
Jag tror nog att Bush förstår, men han måste väl hålla god min.

Oj, detta har ju tagits upp massor i Sverige, inte minst i bloggar, de bästa tv-bloggarna t ex, som Weirdscience.se som skrivit mycket om Colbert öht.
Jaha Lisa, det är väl jag som är för dåligt uppmärksam, men nog tyckte jag att sekvensen var så bra att det borde kommit fram tydligt även för en slarvig nyhetsläsare som jag. Speciellt med tanke på alla långrandiga intetsägande "analyser" om presidentvalet i USA som man ödslar tid på i Public Service-TV.
